dear readers,
last month, i couldn't stop raving about the new chanel tattoos which hit stores in march. (i'm still raving about them.) this month, i thought i'd share something you wouldn't necessarily find on the racks at barneys or off the paris runways. this little something is someone who saved me from excruciating back torture and the inability to sport my louboutins at my favorite places, like new york's new must-resto, the breslin or scott conant's faustina.
i was first introduced to dr.
vijay vad by my friend anthony orso. (thank you, anthony.) i'll
cut through all the drama of explaining my visits with other doctors and just
tell you that vad got it the moment i walked in the door. he had a solution:
a new non-invasive procedure called radio frequency denervation.
although there aren't any permanent solutions for sciatica and degenerated discs
aside from surgery (which is hit or miss), this option would eliminate my pain
for up to two years. vad had already performed it on thousands of patients worldwide
including wimbeldon-bred tennis players and high-profile NFL athletes, so i went
for it. in a nutshell? total success.
now you can call anyone in my office and they will tell you that i have officially stopped bitching about my back. in fact, i wake up every day thinking how splendiferous it is to be pain free. i'm back at the gym, can wear those new gucci clemence platform wedges, and feel like an entirely new person. i know there are millions of you out there with back pain, which is why i had to tell you about him. after all, a great back doctor is like a great hermès handbag - it always makes you feel better, can save you in a pinch, and is there when you need it. i wouldn't lend you my kelly bag, but feel free to enjoy dr. vad as much as you'd like. no matter where you live.
