so many restos, so little time. some advice? slip on your best strappy heels and book it over to civetta restaurant, opening friday.
you love sfoglia (pictured). but the cab ride all the way to the UES? not for those of you who won't go above 14th street. the good news? ron and colleen suhanoskys, along with the help of the via quadranno team, are setting up a new resto in soho that'll give sfoglia patrons yet another home away from home. you might get an inkling from the winking owl on their web site that civetta means flirt in italian. and that they do. courting your taste buds will be their number one pastime at the bi-level spot, complete with basement lounge, wine barrel chandeliers and vaulted ceilings. chef ron is in charge of the med menu, a bevy of small to large plates including antipasti like stuffed panzarotti or deep-fried scamorza. and they'll have plenty of what they do best: plenty of fresh pastas. and if that all goes to your head, soak up the homemade sodas and heavily italian wine list with colleen's popular sfoglia loaves.
and you thought crushes were just in high school. civetta. 98 kenmare street. at cleveland. 212.274.9898. opens june 12th.
